Veg keema bread is a filling snack that goes well with tea in the evening or on a rainy day.

Required ingredients

  • ½ cup soya granules
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, chopped
  • 1 small capsicum, chopped
  • 1 small carrot grated
  • ½ tsp ginger garlic paste
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to deep fry
  • 6 slices of sandwich bread
  • ½ cup semolina to coat

Directions & How to

  • Prepare the soya granules as per instructions on the pack.
  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan; add ginger garlic paste and sauté for few seconds.
  • Add the onions and cook them till they soften about 1 minute.
  • Add the tomatoes cook till its water dries up, and then add capsicum, carrot and rest of the masala powders and salt.
  • Next add the soya granules; mix well and cook on low heat for 8-10 minutes. Let it cool to room temperature.
  • Cut the edges of the bread slices. Soak 1 slice in water for 2 seconds, squeeze out excess water. Place 1 tbsp of filling in the middle of the bread and bring together all four corners and shape it round.
  • Roll in semolina to coat well and deep fry in heated oil till crisp.
  • Serve with tomato sauce.
