Bathua ka saag is very  nutritious, high in protein and calcuim and it makes a very delicious green vegetable

Required ingredients

  • 500 gm bathua
  • 1 tsp. garlic paste
  • 4-5 green chillies, roughly chopped
  • 1 tsp. cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp. garam masala powder
  • 2 tsp. mustard oil
  • Salt to taste

Directions & How to

  • Separate the leaves from stock and wash them well. Blanch the leaves and grind to a paste (alternatively you can finely chopped the leaves)
  • Heat oil in a wok; add cumin seeds, as they splutter, add garlic paste and sauté for few seconds
  • Add the saag, green chillies and salt. Mix well and let it cook on low heat till oil start to flow on top.
  • Sprinkle garam masala and serve with your choice of roti. Besan ki roti works well.
