About this recipe

Masala parwal is quick and easy  veg side dish, suitable for any meal of the day.

Required ingredients

  • 500 g parwal (pointed gourd) scraped and cut horizontally in 4 pieces.
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2tsp nigella seeds
  • 1 tsp dry mango powder
  • 1tsp cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil

Directions & How to

  • Mix all the masala powders with a little water to form a paste. Keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a wok, add parwal and salt, cook for few minutes.
  • Add the paste to the parwal mix well and lower the flame.
  • Add nigella seeds, cover and cook till parwals are soft and tender.
  • Serve with chapati.
