Smoked keema is an authentic dish with great aroma. Cooked with a wonderful blend of spices and then smoked with coal, enhances it taste.

Required ingredients

  • 500 g minced meat
  • 2 medium sized onion finely sliced
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 3-4 whole dry red chillies
  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 cup yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp garam masala powder
  • ½ tsp raw papaya paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil

Garnishing

  • 2 slit green chillies
  • 1 tsp grated ginger

Directions & How to

  • Roast and grind cumin, coriander and red chillies to fine powder.
  • Fry the onions till golden and grind to a paste.
  • Mix masala powders and onion paste and add it to the minced meat.
  • Add salt, oil, ginger garlic paste, yogurt, raw papaya paste to the minced meat and leave it to marinate for 5-7 hours in the refrigerator.
  • Place it in a heavy bottomed pan and cook for 30-40 minutes or till completely cooked.Or cook in a pressure cooker for 15 minutes.
  • Smoke it with charcoal and served.

Charcoal Smoking

  • Burn a piece of charcoal red hot, place a piece of foil in the middle of the minced meat shape like a small bowl.
  • Place the red hot charcoal on the foil and pour 1 tsp of ghee or oil on it and immediately cover the lid.
  • Serve after 10 minutes.
