Cake Doughnuts are an easy option if you dont want to work with yeast. These doughnuts not only taste great but look beautiful too.

Required ingredients

  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons  vanilla essence
  • 3 cups  maida
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons salted  butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk, room temperature
  • Oil to deep fry

Directions & How to

  • Sift flour and baking powder together and keep aside.
  • Beat the  eggs and sugar in a large bowl, until thick and pale yellowand sugar is dissolved.
  • Beat in vanilla  essence to the sugar and egg mix.
  • Now add softened butter and milk and beat once.
  • Add flour to the mix in 3 batches mixing well after each addition.
  • Cover and leave the sticky dough in refrigerator to firm.
  • Turn out the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll out to thickness of 1/2 inch and cut  about 12- 15 doughnut with doughnut cutter.
  • Heat oil in a wok, deep fry 2-3 doughnuts in batches till golden brown.
  • Dip each doughnut in chocolate glaze or caramel sauce or simply sprinkle some caster sugar. Serve warm.
