Chicken lollypop is a  very delicious Chinese appetizer. Here is a Indo Chinese recipe of chicken lollypops  to suit to our Indian taste. Its spicy and crisp from outside with tender and juicy meat inside. Enjoy..

Required ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 500 grams chicken lollypops
  • Oil for frying

For marinade

  • 1tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1.1/2  tbsp soya sauce
  • 2 tbsp red chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Salt as per taste

For batter

  • 5 tbsp flour
  • 5 tbsp corn flour
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 2 pinches of red food color
  • Salt as per taste
  • Water as required

Directions & How to

  • Wash and rinse the lollypops.
  • Combine all the ingredients listed for marination in a bowl. Blend it well and prepare the marinade.
  • Add chicken lollypops and mix well. Cover the bowl, refrigerate it and leave it to marinate for around 4-5 hours, preferably over night.
  • Take out the marinated lollypops from the fridge 15 minutes prior to frying. Separate the pieces from the marinade.
  • To prepare the batter mix all the dry ingredients listed for batter in a bowl.
  • Mix in it the leftover marinade and add required amount of water and prepare a smooth thick batter of flowing consistency.
  • Dip the lollypops in the batter and deep fry in hot oil till golden and crisp.
  • Serve hot with chilli sauce or tomato sauce.
For crispierlollypops, heat oil to smoking point, put a few chicken pieces ( dont over crowd the pan) and fry it on medium heat, turn once in between and once it is cooked,  increase the heat to high and fry it till it turns golden and crisp. Remove on absorbent paper and serve hot.
