Mix Dal Kachra is a dish which I learnt from my grandmother. Crispy and tasty goes well with green chutney.

Required ingredients

  • 2 tbsp kabuli chana
  • 2 tbsp kala chana
  • 2 tbsp lobia
  • 2 tbsp urad dal
  • 2 tbsp masur dal
  • 2 tbsp moong dal oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic-green chilli paste
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying

Directions & How to

  • Soak all the dals, chanas and lobia together for 4-6 hours.
  • Drain water of soaked dals and grind to a coarse paste in a food processor adding water only if required in very small quantities.
  • Add in salt and garlic chilli paste, chopped ginger and coriander leaves.
  • Heat the oil in a wok.
  • Wet your palms take 1 heaped tsp dal paste on your left palm, flatten it; make a hole in between and then transfer to your right hand fingers and drop in oil.  Add some more likewise and fry till golden and crisp.
  • Serve with your choice of chutney easily
  • You can fry them like pakoras if you wish.
