About this recipe
Choley Masala a popular north Indian dish served with puri or bhatura can be eaten in breakfast and even at lunch.
Required ingredients
- 2 cups soaked kabuli chana(chickpeas)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 large onion paste
- 3 medium sized tomato paste
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tsp amchoor powder( dry mango powder)
- 1 bay leaf
- salt to taste
- oil as required
Directions & How to
- Pressure cook kabuli chana, salt and turmeric powder in 2 cups water till very soft.
- Take 1/2 cup boiled chickpeas and mash it with a potato masher to make a paste. Keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, add bay leaf.
- Add onion paste, cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add ginger garlic paste ,cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Now add tomato paste and cook till oil seperates.
- Add the boiled chickpeas, its paste, red chilli, garam masala , and amchoor powders.
- Mix well cover and let it cook for 15-20 minutes on low heat.
- Serve with puri or bhatura.
