Mango raita…quick and easy to cook mango raita, a yummy accompaniment to your meals and a good variation to your regular raitas. Mango raita is a summer delight, the combination of mangoes and yogurt is very appealing as well as tempting.

Required ingredients

  • 1 cup yoghurt
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped mango
  • 1 tsp sugar - optional
  • A little black salt
  • Salt as per taste

For tempering

  •  1 tbsp chopped onion
  • 1 dry red chilli
  • 4-5 curry leaves-kari patta
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds/zeera
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds/rai
  • A pinch of asafoetida/hing
  • 2 tbsp oil

Directions & How to

  • Whisk the yoghurt with salt, black salt and sugar (if using) and refrigerate it till serving time.
  • While serving mix in it chopped mangoes.
  • Heat oil in a tarka pan, add all the ingredients for tempering and fry till it turns golden.
  • Pour over the yogurt and serve immediately.
