Tamatar Chaat is a famous chaat from Uttar Pradesh it is easy to make, spicy and tasty.

Required ingredients

  • 4 ripe tomatoes, thickly sliced
  • 1 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp chopped green chillies
  •  1 tbsp. oil
  •  ½ cup imli ki mithi chutney,
  • 4 tbsp. amchur ki khatti chutney
  • Salt to taste
  • Chaat masala, as required
  • Chopped coriander leaves to garnish

Directions & How to

  • Heat oil in a skillet; splutter cumin seeds and green chillies.
  • Add sliced tomatoes, sauté on high heat for couple of minutes. Then lower the heat, cover and cook till tomatoes soften completely.
  • Add mashed potatoes, salt and mix well.
  • Add amchur chutney and 2 tbsp. of mithi chutney and sauté well for 4-5 minutes.
  • Drizzle rest of mithi chutney, sprinkle chaat masala and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot.
