Moongauri is the moong dal pakauri, very popular north indian snack.

Required ingredients

  • 1 cup soaked moong daal( split green gram)
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to deep fry
  • To serve
  • Green chutney

Directions & How to

  • Grind moong daal and green chillies together to form a coarse paste, using little water.
  • Add salt and cumin powder.
  • Heat oil in a wok(not smoking hot). Drop dumplings of daal paste with the help of a spoon. You can also drop dumplings with your fingertips in oil.
  • Fry till golden brown and crisp in small batches.
  • Serve with chutney.
