Masala fish fry, use your choice of fish for this recipe. Small sized sea fishes like mackerel, sardines, lady fish, snapper fish etc tastes great with this recipe.

Required ingredients

  • 10- 12 nos. of mackeral, sardines, lady fish or hilsa fish
  • Oil for shallow frying

For marinade

  • 2 tsbp mustard paste
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds and coriander seeds - roasted and powdered
  • 1 tsp  chilli powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup roasted gram flour

Directions & How to

  • Cut and clean the fish, make little slits on both the sides and soak it in a little salt water for about 15 minutes.
  • Drain and pat dry.
  •  Mix all ingredients for the marinade and marinate the fish for 25-30 minutes.
  • Shallow fry it on non stick pan till done and crisp.
  • Serve hot.
