Aalo tikki is absolutely delicious and one the most famous Indian street food.

Required ingredients

For Aalo tikki

  • 400 g potatoes, boiled and peeled
  • 2 slice bread
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to shallow fry

For the chaat

  • 1 cup boiled choley
  • Amchur ki khatti chutney
  • Imli ki mithi chutney
  • ½ cup beaten curd
  • Chaat masala, as required
  • Sev or chopped coriander for garnishing

Directions & How to

For Aalo Tikki

  • Mash the boiled potatoes. Mix in the bread and salt and mash again without leaving any lumps.
  • Make about 8-10 patties and shallow fry in a non-stick frying pan till golden and crisp. Drain on a paper towel.

For the chaat

  • Place 1 aalo tikki on serving plate, add 1 tbsp. of choley on it. Add 1 tsp chutney and sprinkle chaat masala. Place another tikki over it, like a burger and add curd and chutneys once again.
  • Garnish and serve hot.
